It depends, if they're bred properly and looked after (like a loved family pet, not a source of income) and not sold as a "designer dog" cause thats just a fancy name for a mutt or bitsa then i'm not extremely worried.
What worries me is that there are far too many people that breed for the wrong reasons, irresponsibly, mistreat the animals etc. Although the same goes for purebred animals, I dont doubt there are purebreeders who are just as bad.
And of course, way too many people impulse buy or dont care where their animals came from or how they are treated and as long as they support the industry it wont change unless some authority steps in.

I suppose it does give people with allergies a wider range of dogs to choose from.. But that's about the only good thing..
I absolutely HATE poodles.

Poodles are not the only non shedding dog that allergy sufferers can choose from. At least with a pure bred you KNOW the coat won't shed, with any cross with a poodle it is a hit and miss game. 99% of surrendered poodle crosses are handed in because they set off the owners allergies. It's a shame every one only thinks that the poodle is their only option when looking at purebreds.
Cara, I'm with you, those places make me ill

ummm I don't hate the poodles, didn't hear anyone else say they did either? It is the stupid people who sprout the crap about the crosses being so "wonderful" that annoy me.

Hahah. Its so ironic that the poodle would bite you, when everyone assumes rooties are aggressive. Omg >_> The ones that used to live down the road, used to also get over the fence, now they looked savage.

We had a german shephard next door that used to bark and growl at us whenever we walked close to the fence. One time it managed to get its front paws over the fence when i was walking past... I jumped like a foot in the air and bolted lol She's a scary one that's for sure.
And she attacked my dog.. But i dragged my dog back under the fence away from her and the funny thing is, he just ran straight back under and attacked her.. He was like a maltese cross.. Tiny..
