I have a few rats that get Myco from time to timeand have one rat develop head tilt from it. I have lost two to it! Horrible disease!! I am learning that it doesnt ALWAYS present the same in each rat. Who here has had issues with myco (should be all of us) and what symptoms and severity did they suffer

Pidge - Lung scarring. "Dooked" for her entire life. Got pneumonia at age 9 months and wasted away to a skin-covered skeleton before passing away.
Escapee - Lung scarring. On meds, and will be for the rest of his life.
A few of my other rats are "dooking" at the moment, so the whole lot are on Psittavet.

I don't know if that's what it's actually called, but they "dook". They make very audible dooking noises when they breathe, or get really excited. My rats with chronic myco tend to dook when they get really excited.

I know. I wish there was some way to make it disappear :/
I think that we rely too much on medication, so once we see it stay, we put them straight onto baytril or vibravet. That causes them to have a resistance to it when they really need it.
