Cherry is a blue mm berk (though she looks more like a mm Irish), Rocky is a black mm hooded (almost capped) with head spot, carries BEW. Cherry gave birth to 15 babies (yes 15!) 4 days ago now, and all 15 are doing extremely well. Checked today and looks like we have 6 boys and 9 girls... though at this stage I could still be wrong. Most of the female berks have headspots, not sure about the boys yet. One very nicely marked capped with headspot baby too. The Girls The Boys

I know a lot of people do worry about blues, but me and another lady in Newcastle now have established this blue line; I have seen 8 generations personally without a single incident, she claims to have had a total of 12. I don't believe that the platelet issue is tied to the blue gene, and I think it was just more common in blue rats due to heavy inbreeding. But blue is a naturally occurring mutation, so it's theoretically possible to get blues who aren't related to the other blues, and I believe our blue line is not related to the others which do carry platelet issues. My blues now exhibit higher than average resistance to myco (haven't had a single sneeze or runny anything), and none have died prematurely or in suspicious circumstances. I'm not using any blues in the line of whom their history is uncertain, or worse includes problems. And anyone is more than welcome to come have a look at the blues I have now if they'd like to check their health for themselves

6 days old today and all 15 are going well. Cherry is the best mother I've ever had, she responds to every squeak, holds the babies in her hands as she picks them up with her mouth... I feel bad taking them away, even if it is only for about 10 mins, because although she lets me touch them in front of her, if I take them away she spends all her time just trying to find them. Most of the mums I've had before can't hide their relief when I take their babies for a little while, and half don't even really want them back lol but Cherry is just such a devoted mother. There are 9 girls and 6 boys, all black and over half with head markings ;D The Boys The Girls Hooded (mm) Capped (mm) Berks

Just in case anyone was interested, for those concerned for the health of the mother as a blue, I've uploaded a few photos so you can have a look at her This one was taken just before we put her in with Rocky This one I took just a few minutes ago, she's quite athletic lol and about 2 secs after this photo was taken she leaped about 10-15cm onto me. She's a shoulder rat... And finally, this one just so you guys can have a look at the little heart on her tummy
