I live in Sutherland Shire, and have been fortunate enough to have volunteered at Sydney Dogs and Cats home. This shelter was the most awe inspiring place to be. There has been a change in management approximately 1 year ago,and since then things have declined dramatically. Dogs are PTS "willy nilly" and volunteers have been told not to question the reasons. This shelter used to be not only the pride of my area, but also the pride, and benchmark for all of rescue. It has been devastating to watch the past work all come undone. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas that as to what we can do to draw all this to the councils and the publics attention so they cant get away with this without going unnoticed.

we are looking into that.. this is a much heated topic in rescue at the moment.
I have just discovered a friend of a friend lol is the head of all rangers etc in my area so I am endeavouring to hear from that person to see wat the thoughts are of the surrounding shelters.

sdch has now had alot of publicity . Sadly it isnt because they have improved, but rather the opposite. Alot of dogs are now sent to blacktown pound,..which isnt the best option either! What a sad story for what once was such a highly respected shelter.
