Ouchie! Sounds like you brought out the shop! lol I have a slight bit more gear but i bought it spaced out over a year lol... I thought maybe you bought one of the pro cameras or a really expensive lens I say quantity is more fun than slightly better quality with DSLR's. What fun is an SLR if you dont have anything to add or attach to it! hehe no way the photographic industry will die out anytime soon!

definitely look around for 2nd hand gear, there are lots of good bargains to be found buying 2nd hand! especially since most people look after their gear cause it cost so much lol!!!
Cause I'm with Olympus there arent tons of users, but there are plenty hiding if you look, i nearly went with one 2nd hand lens because I had trouble finding it (and that was because it was actually a Sigma lens that Sigma decided not to distribute it to australia anymore lol), then i bought a 2nd hand body from the US recently and saved lots of money. Being with Canon you'll probably find an even bigger variety of 2nd hand goods hehe
Not to mention you can buy different coverters to use other brands and accessories and things and expand your kit even further!! DSLR's are a good idea if you want lots of choices
