Here are two of my favourites. They were taken at Falls Creek earlier this year, on my compact camera =) . Boy do I miss the snow though!

Thankyou =) . That was my second trip to the snow and i'm in love, it's so beautiful and so much fun. That last trip is what really got me into photography, I mean if I can get that good of a shot on a cheap 5 year old compact imagine what I could do with a new dslr LMAO! I can't wait until the next time I can go (next year I hope), I'll probably spend a whole day taking photos =P

The best part i like about a DSLR is the fact that you can just keep adding to it Its like a never ending camera, if you stick to the same brand you can interchange between bodies, lenses, accessories, you name it the world is your oyster. Best part is you can buy a lot of things 2nd hand and in good condition cause 1) SLR's are constantly being replaced with newer models these days and 2) most people take very good care of them

Half a dozen filters, a fancy bag, external flash, different lenses, spare battery, bigger memory card I could really go on forever. I'm pretty low on cash after buying the thing in the first place though so all that is going to have to wait. I'm spending this time learning how to use it!

lol, nah its all good, i meant camera Hang in there, you'll find good bargains if you keep an eye out. I only just found out that forums for my camera have buy & sell threads and the gear is SOOO much cheaper there, plus if your able to buy from america, you'll pick up a bargain no matter what

Awesome, i'll have to have a look sometime =). And i've already got the job technically (its doing small jobs, cleaning, respite etc. for elderly people to help them stay in their own homes) but I have to wait for my blue card to come through before I can start.
And I definately need a new memory card, the 1gb one that I found lying around the house couldn't even hold up to one rodent photo shoot =P

You'll need a camera that takes a CF Card (Compact Flash) they go up to something like 16gb or 32 or something ridiculous these days. Although I can only afford a 4gb but they're getting cheaper, and they hold plenty enough
If you're interested in learning more once u have ur camera, there's two camera clubs on the northside of brissy. I keep meaning to go along to the Redcliffe one to see what its like, but i've been slack.

I already have the camera, (canon 450D) i'm just working out how to use it, and then trying to get clear photos of wriggly rodents inside without a flash! I'm just waiting for when I'm able to go out somewhere nice to photograph. It takes SD cards and we already had one at home, but i've been eyeing off some 8gv ones off ebay. They're so much cheaper online!
I do love my new toy =P

Oh yes, online is the place for bargains!! lol ;D
Brisbane doesn't exactly have dramatic landscapes, it's an interesting task trying to find somewhere that you'll enjoy taking photos depending on what interest you
