Rex is dominant, so you can't get rex if neither parent is rex. So one parent must be a really poor rex, or they aren't rex.

Oh.. Thanks! Sorry to be annoying you with all my questions lol but whats the chances of getting rex if one parent is rex? Like, in say a litter of 10 would you most likely get 4 rex?

mother nature determines what you get so even trying to guess the amount of rex in a mixed litter is useless. For example, I bred a standard to a rex and all 11 bubs were rex. I then bred a rex girl from that litter to a standard boy and out of 7 only 1 is rex. You really can't guess the odds.
Cant wait to see pics

yep it is the same with ANY creature. Unless you pair 2 parents of the same colour with only that colour in their blood lines. If you start mixing types or colour mother nature determines what you get in the bubs

Do you know the family history of this litter, beyond the parents? I might be interested in a couple of bubs, if any are available.

CR Cookies parents were TC Ally (siamese) and pet shop bought Bruce (siamese). We were given Anita a while ago along with her two sisters Lateisha (Brindle manx) and Bala (fawn with slight brindle markings manx) don't really know much about their history sorry..

When I bred my rex rat litter. I was told 1/3 would be rex, 1/3 would be standard carrying rex, and 1/3 being standard.
Rex doesnt carry, and I ended up with a straight 1/2 1/2 litter.

yep true Rex is dominant so they either ARE rex or they are standard and missed out on the rex gene all together. Same goes for DU. It is a dominant gene so you don't have DU carriers.
As for a half half litter, that was some pretty good luck there. I always find (with my rex mice) the ones who aren't rex have the better markings too LOL

Here's some pics of the bubbas.. A few have already been reserved. We did somehow manage to get 2 rex manx.. Here's the bubs that will be available soon Agouti rex with a cute headspot (Male) Not sure if these boys are BEW, bone or silver sable (Both male, one reserved).. Black self manx (Female, reserved) and black/tan fox manx (Male) i think Black/tan rex (Female) Not sure if you can class this as fawn but she's an orange colour with dark grey underneath. She's a something rex manx lol (Reserved) This one kinda looks like a siamese or burmese. Rex manx (Female, reserved) I think these last four are either siamese or burmese rex i'm pretty sure they are all female. Sorry about the bad quality of the pics, was using Coreys phone and they just wouldn't sit still! lol P.S Forgot to mention that we had two litters lol one rex and one manx litter. Parents of the rex litter are Tom and Spot The Wonder Mouse. Can view them on our site.
